Who are we?
ADWC was established by David Stewart in early 2011. David is well known throughout the dams and water industry across Australia and internationally. He has over 30 years of practical experience in both the public and private sectors where he has held a number of senior technical and managerial roles in large corporations.
David is a chartered professional engineer, specialising in civil, dams, water, major infrastructure and geotechnical engineering projects. He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAust, CPEng), a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), a Graduate of the Singapore Institute of Management, an Associate Member, Director and immediate past Chairman of the Australian National Committee on Large Dams (ANCOLD) and a co-author of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) new Bulletin on Dam Safety Management.
Phillip Cummins became an Associate of ADWC in October 2011. He is currently Deputy to the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry and is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. He is Chairman of the (International Commission on Large Dams) Committee on the Operation, Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Dams and a past Chairman of the Australian National Committee on Large Dams.
Phillip has worked both nationally and internationally on the design, assessment, risk management and the rehabilitation of dams, hydropower projects and water supply works. He has worked extensively on Project Review Boards including the Hume-Dartmouth Technical Review Board, the Victorian Dam Safety Advisory Committee and a wide cross-section of dam construction and rehabilitation projects in many countries.
Phillip’s key area of interest is the application of risk management techniques to water supply, water management and hydro-electric systems and he has presented papers at national and international symposia and workshops.
Both David and Phillip have been independently recognised by Engineers Australia as amongst the top 100 Most Influential Engineers in the country because of their work in the engineering profession particularly related to dams and water engineering projects.
Working with other highly respected and skilled professionals through an extensive network of industry partnerships, ADWC is also able to bring together a range of skills, expertise and experience to provide high level assistance to meet the needs of clients throughout the water industry.
